The Greyhound Inn on High Street

High Street

High Street has a haunted stretch near to the former Greyhound Inn, where witnesses have reported a phantom stagecoach pulling to a stop outside. The phantom coachman that controls the ethereal vision has been described as “swathed in a thick cloak… puts down the reins and his whip, glances towards the inn”, before he and the coach melts away.

The White Hart

The White Hart is haunted by Donald Ross, a former landlord from the 1920's who was a fiddler that gave impromptu performances to his patrons. Apparently, his phantom violin is only heard if his beloved pub is not being run correctly!

Interestingly, the author Rupert Matthews lists this as happening at Chalfont St Giles.
